Day 33 – May 5 – Ponferrada (Km 203) to Villafranca del Bierzo (Km 182) = 21 km – Cumulative 562 km "Hello All:
Today was a bus from Ponferrada to Villa Franca which is a beautiful hilly small town. There are 4 convents, still centres for nuns and we met one. She was from Guatamala and had been asked to come and tend after some aged people (not certain if they were old nuns or old people)! We went into 1 convent which was built in the 17th century ... amazing! That night we were in a hotel so it was a separate room for just us Dick and Len had a regional soup of potatoes and cabbage. For the entree, Dick had cold cooked trout with vinegar and Sue had peppers stuffed with cod."
